9 week old red/blood spot on beak

Am I seeing more than one cockerel? It may just be a peck from them sparring. Horn tends to mark red when it is bruised/damaged. I would not be overly concerned about it, particularly if it is not bothering him and he is acting normal.

If you shut the big doors at night (no gaps), keep the pop door secured and the windows are securely covered with hardware cloth, then the interior chicken wire is probably o.k.

Do keep in mind that raccoons and possums (+other predators) are going to test and try to find ways into your coop. The neighborhood dogs, fox and coyote are also something to really watch even if you have privacy fencing. Chickens can fly and dig. The dog/fox/coyote can also climb and dig (as well as raccoon/possum).
Thank you for your suggestions! I’m definitely going to add security to the entire coop and yard. And we do have a pretty crazy dog next door with no manners lol Thank god our own dogs have been amazing with the chickens! :)

We do have more than one cockerels. Unfortunately when we got our first 4 chicks 3 of them are boys. Lol. We are keeping one boy and in the process of rehoming the other two. The new 5 chickens (8 weeks old) we just got yesterday are all hens. After rehoming the two boys we will have 1 boy to 6 girls. :)
