9 year old child charged in shooting..

What do you all think of this? I cant help but feel bad for the kid,..
Sounds like hes had a tough life and criminal parents,..
And it doesnt sound like he aimed the gun at the other child, it was in his backpack,...
I dont know,..

That was my reaction too. I just feel really bad for the kid. What I read indicated that both of his parents were habitual breakers of the law. You have to wonder what the boy had been exposed too. And then for him to think that he needed a gun for protection to run away from home... wow. How rotten must his home life had been.

The gun was in his backpack and went off accidentally. I feel bad for the little girl that got shot, but I'm not sure that charging the boy is the way to go. Clearly the child needs help, but jail seems like it will only make matters worse.

The situation stinks all the way around.

He brought a gun to school, he accidentally shot someone. Seems fitting.

HE"S 9! get real. there is nothin right about this. child services should have this kid in there care. as far as charges,they belong to the mother cause this is where he got the gun..

I'm sorry but what happened here was an accidental discharge although he illegally possessed the weapon. The bail just wasn't steep, it's ridiculous.

ya know ,thats a good point. lets look at this. HE'S 9! therefore this would apply. he is not old enough to know. and guessing from his history I doubt anyone ever gave him lessons on firearms.

Accidental discharge that hits someone is still assault if she died he would be tried with manslaughter.
