I keep reading conflicting information about the best temperature to incubate chicken eggs. Some say 99.5, some say 100 degrees. My Genesis Hovabator 1588 is preset for 100 degrees (but reads 0.5 degree higher than a calibrated food thermometer). I'll be setting my first batch of eggs this weekend and wanted to know which temp you all prefer?

For chickens, I prefer 99.5. When I do a combination including ducks and turkeys, i'll bump it up to 99.8. It doesn't seem to effect the chicken hatch rate but improves the ducks and turkeys.
