99 Chicks are 3 days old, and have brooder questions please

A wire floored brooder is fine. I raise from hundreds to thousands of chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and such each year - all in outdoor brooders with a hardware cloth floor. Sometimes I'll put some paper towels over part of the floor for the first few days, sometimes I don't. They all turn out fine.

I believe she said her coops were stacked? Meaning one on top of the other? Do they not poo on the chicks below without something in there?

I was taking it that it was a commercial type brooder with trays. If there are no trays between the levels, then yes, the droppings would fall on the ones below.

One of the feed stores that I go to has that stacking style of brooder and there is just wire there (no bedding)- and there are trays that keep the poo from falling to the next level.

I guess I am not sure if she has trays. I dont think she ever said just something that crossed my mind i have never used a brooder.....My chicks end up in a large cardboard box. Poor things good thing they dont know any different!

yes there are trays. no poo falls on the ones below. sorry for no caps I'm holding a baby. now I see some chicks have poo stuck to their butt, been cleaning butts all night
