Oh how horrible...that's when it's time to carry a BB gun or paint gun. Save the hens! Ugh.My neighbor works where there is a large pond in front of the business where he is at. He spends his lunch hour watching the ducks while he eats. He told me it makes him sick how many Hens he sees die on the pond as 2 and 3 drakes are all getting on top of her at the same time and drown her. I notice in our area I see so many drakes and so few hens. This is why. Drakes can be awful to the Hens during mating season. We do have to protect them if we are responsible flock owners.
Since Mallards are migratory birds and protected he would get in serious trouble if he tried to intervene but I am with you. It would be hard to watch and I am sure it does not help his stomach when eating his lunch.Oh how horrible...that's when it's time to carry a BB gun or paint gun. Save the hens! Ugh.
Wonder if a discreet slingshot or something might could deter them and not get him in trouble.Since Mallards are migratory birds and protected he would get in serious trouble if he tried to intervene but I am with you. ugh grrr no slingshot , you dont want them to live suffering with injuries. get a rowboat and a net. capture the girls and take them home, or capture the boys and eat them.Wonder if a discreet slingshot or something might could deter them and not get him in trouble.
Odd that no conservation group would try to assist w some of that. Especially since they’re sooo many males and not enough females.

Only in season and certain areas can they hunt with a permit. Never can they shoot near a business where this is or harm the ducks especially during spring when babies are born.i thought people who duck hunt shoot mallards every day?
Yes they would just tell you it's the balance of nature and I know during duck hunt season only the males get shot so I think that is how they figure it all balances out.Wonder if a discreet slingshot or something might could deter them and not get him in trouble.

You can shoot things from slingshots that don’t equal injury or death. Lolugh grrr no slingshot , you dont want them to live suffering with injuries. get a rowboat and a net. capture the girls and take them home, or capture the boys and eat them.
