dad is at work full time...my mom SAYS shes tired..uh! theres always something wrong with her! and the other kids are told to help but theyre just in the way
I would like to say I totally feel for you... BUT I don't. Heres is why... When you move out, are on your own, you will be really well prepared to be self reliant and self sufficient... That being said, try this...
My mom lives with me too...
I do all the following...
All cooking
All cleaning
All yard work
All laundry
All shoveliing
All driving
Only person to work in the house
All animal care
All shopping
All garbage take out
AND I have 2 little boys. It sucks some days yes, but, life is what you make it. So, don't complain to much. It could get a lot worse. You could have to walk home instead of getting picked up.
On the days you volunteer, which is totally awesome of you btw, be prepared to open a can of soup and grill a cheese sandwiche. Easiest meal ever and usually everyone is still happy.
ETA: I just saw the posting that were made before I finished submitting my post... If 8-10 people is the case... WOW. That is a load of crap, and maybe you need be really tired when you get home and make a sandwich and go and hide! I have only to cook for 5.
Who works in the family, and how often? How many children, and how many that are too young to help in the kitchen? How many adults who are capable of helping out?
It sounds like you are really carrying your weight and I applaud you for volunteering.
Just feel like I need a little more information before I offer advice.
People who live in the house and ages- Dad, Mom, Joseph - 18, Me - 14, Kim - 14 (adopted), Jerry 13, Marrianne 11. Then My aunt usually comes over for dinner..And my other brother and nephew sometimes.. Nobody helps..at all

x2. Something's not adding up. I don't want to pry, but does mom have other things going on, and takes it out on you? Sounds like way too much stuff for you to shoulder alone. I also agree that you will be much more self reliant person as you get out on your own, having to deal with stuff like this. Unfortunatley, its the bad stuff in life that has a tendancy to make us stronger.
Yeah, at 18 and 14, there are other people who can prep dinner.
Thats just crazy. Is it like that every Tuesday? Cuz I tell you what... When you become an adult, you are going to have the workiing then coming home and working some more thing down pat!
I understand a kid having chores and such, but having to make dinner for 8 people is a little extreme in my opinion. What does your family eat on the other days of the week and who cooks it?
