Everything in this post x2... and don't forget to put the electric around the bee hives..A bear has thick fur so bait the wire with something like peanut butter so it will touch the wire with it's nose or tongue so it will feel the shock and not come back.
I have scrap plywood and if I have time after reinforcing the coop tonight I’ll try to make them real quick. Redundancy never hurts!!!!On TV not long ago I saw on a program a fellow making a unwelcome mat for grisly bears. He used big nails and surprisingly the bear did bend some of the nails but it kept the bear out of the cabin. His unwelcome mat was about the size of a full sheet of plywood.
Good luck...I have scrap plywood and if I have time after reinforcing the coop tonight I’ll try to make them real quick. Redundancy never hurts!!!!
I don’t have a game cam but I wish I did. It just wasn’t an extra expense I could afford to make. My neighbor tried to test the fence and it fried his tester. The controller is for 30 miles so I’m just hoping it’s enough. The store is 30 minutes away and I went twice today so I didn’t get the chance to go backYou did a great job getting it all together today. Please keep us posted. Curious... Do you have a game camera you can put up? Out of curiosity, what fence charger did you get and how many KV's is it putting out? Again good luck...
I feel that the coop is at least as strong as it was previously and I’m hoping the same.... since it wasn’t easy it won’t be worth it. I’ve had an animal snooping around for a week now so I’m wondering if it’s been that bear. I heard someone saw it last week on their porch :/Well, maybe since it wasnt easy the first time... he wont be back....
But if he DOES come back, you look ready!
