A beautiful widow......(you may find her creepy)

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I can handle anything but those! I see a little one and I might be able to kill it, but usually they are big enough to eat my chicks! I found one whee I came home one morning on my cupboard door that was almost the size of a saucer! My DH couldn't belive that I actually killed it. Nope, I usually leave it to my dh or my courageous son, who is 8, kill them. Yes, I know that they are oh so beneficial when it come to other insects, but not near me! I also had a bad experience with them when I was a kid. I always played with them, but I had one bite me on the calf and ended having my leg lanced and lots of meds. Never again. And yes, my son killed a momma wolf spider with her thousands of babies and I screamed like a 'grown man' and nearly passed out!

The Snopes article was very interesting
ie: "its a myth because no Human testing has been done"? come now, how can it be a myth when no scientific study has been done.

I have a prime example of toxins acting differently on different people.

This spring while setting up a fish tank. I was hit by a Grass Spider.( does everyone know its a family member to Funnel Web spiders?)
99.5 percent of the population is not allergic to the toxin, unfortunately I am not in that group.
The Doctor even explained to me that Grass Spiders are not toxic to most of the population but those of us who have Bee allergies are highly suseptable to spider bites.
3 weeks of swelling and pain and necrossis the finger finally healed to a point its usable.(keep in mind its been all summer healing)
Spiders are benificial and not killed in this house, they are removed to an outside area more suited to their living conditions.
I also have a resident Rose Hair Tarantula and a Goliath( Bird Eating) Spider.
Do I still play with my spiders , um no not after getting hit by whats supposed to be a non toxic native to NH.
ever seen the size of the fangs on some of those Tarantulas lol.

LOL, you're right, it's not very scientific, but I still love Snopes!
