A beautiful widow......(you may find her creepy)

I'll have to admit that I was hooked by the title of this thread and look, but nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw the pictures... Like Mark, I have a bit of a phobia of spiders.

When they are outside, live and let live... But in the house that is another story... big or small, they have to go...

We have large wolf spiders that I find facinating from a far, but when they jump after me protecting their space in my house, I loose it... "Honey... Get the shoe, book, remote control... anything to keep it from me..."

I guess my fear of spiders came as a young child when my Mum was bitten by a Brown Ratclus (sp?). The spot where she was bitten was on her thumb knuckle and she nearly lost her thumb even after several doctor visits and many $$$ in antibotics treatments.

Since then, my nerves cannot handle spiders in the house... Although I do not have a problem will relocating a Daddy Long Legs outside, the others must beware of the shoe, book and remote control.

It has been fun reading everyone's posts about their pet spiders in the shower and towel closets... I wish I had the nerve to bare having any in the house. The Charolett's of the world can have a nice home outside with Wilbur.

I'm with LadySonja... outside, no problem. But inside, they're unwanted guests, and if I'm not feeling particularly nurturing at the moment, well... you know. Most of them get a tour of the septic tank.
Now we don't have black widows up here. A few small spiders, and daddy longlegs, but nothing huge like that. And let's just say I like it like that. But... nice photography there, Missy!

We had some grass spiders(only thing we've ever called them) hatch in our basement one year and every morning when I'd go wake my DD up for school there were a good dozen on the floor. They are super smart little dudes, they would just move as I walked through. I never tried to step on them and they never went into my DDs room just hung out in the den area. They slowly disappeared, must've found their way outside.

Sorry for getting off topic, but where exactly is Sterling, AK Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain?

I have friends that work in Anchorage, AK and wonder how far you are away from them? They are so warm and friendly and I would love to visit one day evem with the School Bus carrying Mosquitos - LOL!

ROFL.....not THAT bad!!! Alright, Alaska is worth the mosquitoes. However, I heard someone say once, there are 3 seasons in Alaska. Winter, Breakup, and mosquito season.

So funny, I used to think break-up was something you did with a significant other.
