A Bielefelder Thread !

What are your thoughts in keeping two boys? Please tell me you love your Biels!
I was advised to always have a backup rooster, because you never know what is going to happen. Mine will be separate from each other though with a group of hens each. I do love the ones I have, but they are just juvies, and babies at this point.

A Chimera, that is so cool!!! Can you share a pic!? have you bred him to see if he father babies that look like one half or the other more or if they look like they came from a mix of what he is (instead of a chimera)
He is fertile and his babies all come out pretty! but, they are either red with black accents or white with black accents. :) Here he is:

we named him TwoTone :)

Right side:

A front shot where you can see his dividing line right down the middle :) We got him out of the "pullet" bin at a feed store! But since he has saddle feathers on both sides he is not half female and half male as chimera chickens commonly can be. Poor guy has a terrible comb as a result, sort of an "elvis" look for him.

Make that a X4!!!!
:) With TwoTone being an EE, it is very difficult to see what breeds may have been in his background. With the large comb on the one side along with pea comb on the other (almost looks like his comb was trying to be a walnut!) he probably has leghorn in him. Here are some bigger photos of his sides. As he molts, he is getting more black and white on his white side and more white coming in on his "red" side :)

Here is a picture of our two Biele boys:

Fritz who is about two months younger and from a different flock from my other Biele guy. Fritz is 8 lbs.

Franz . He has tail issues and you can see the sprigs on the back of his comb. He weighs probably about 9 lbs.

Now that is one REALLY cool bird! From the front he reminds me of the old video of Aerosmith of a nude Steven Tyler in black and white paint. WAY cool!!!!!
