I've heard of some people using ceramic eggs in the nests and collecting the real ones very regularly. They lose the reward for pecking eggs and probably get a sore beak if they keep trying. Some people have also blown out eggs and filled them with mustard or liquid soap. Idk how well the bad taste will deter them I don't think they choose their food based on taste much.

Sometimes, tacking up a cloth curtain over the front of the nests (if they open in front) partway down discourages them. Apparently they aren't as likely if the nest is dark or darkened.

Hot sauce in a blown out egg won't work because they don't taste the heat. If you try this, I believe mustard works.
