A bit frustrated with The Garden Coop plans

hey all

I'm been sloooowwwwwly building The Garden Coop from plans purchased from the site. Up to the now, the directions have been quite easy to follow, but I'm at the point where I'm putting the walls and floor on the actual coop, and am at a bit of a loss when it comes to what they refer to as the "left" "right" walls, etc.

I've also crawled around these forums and the website's photo gallery looking for pictures of unmodified coops that will show me if the "back" of the coop is the "back" of the whole structure, etc.

In short, i'm frustrated. Is anyone out there close enough to their Garden Coop build to help walk me through this?

So far, I THINK:
1) The left wall is the wall on the left as I face the front of the entire structure - it's one of the 5' walls, so a longer one.
2) The front wall is the wall facing me as I face the front of the entire structure - it's a short 39" wall, and this is where the egg door is.
3) The back wall is opposite the front wall. No cuts in this. Or is this where the cleanout door is?
4) No openings on the right wall?

I just need to know
1) which wall has the egg door WITHOUT the modifications
2) which wall has the cleanout door
3) is there another opening besides those two? If so - what?

Thank you for any patience or help you can provide.

xoxo

ps - my 2 year old son keeps saying "I weady for chickens, mama" and my husband has put a moratorium on other projects until this one's done, so the clock's a tickin'

Can you post a link to the coop you have purchased?
I have built many things over the years (I actually do it for a living) and may be able to help you through the plans.

Based on the preview download, there would be 3 openings. The one on the "FRONT" (same side as the person size door in the run portion) which would be the egg door and then there looks to be 2 openings on the "RIGHT" side. One large opening for clean out and then the chicken ladder/entrance.

Now, I don't know if you NEED the clean out door. Would it make it a little easier to clean? Sure.

So, 2 of the walls have openings and 2 are solid.

Did that help at all? hahaha

Be sure to check the advice above!

You are not alone....you can browse this search for some pointers:
Advanced search>titles only>Garden Coop

..or tho it's difficult to navigate his site, he is usually pretty responsive to questions.
There's comment's section, or just email him.

Thank you for your responses!

At the same time I posted this, I sent an email to the website where I purchased the plans (link above). I rec'd a very prompt response from the author of the plans that really helped me.

There are 3 openings (egg door, cleanout door, and one on the floor for the girls to go up and down). I think I was just hesitant about my carpentry skills and was looking for a hand-holdy way of doing things. I just needed to buck up and DO IT. So I did!

It's finished. Holy cow it's finished.

Now to get the birds. <3
