A bit of an emergency for the Two Old Fools

Well, another lovely morning here in Spain. All the kittens' eyes are clear now, thanks to your advice.

MSPony - I think it must be inbuilt -- us women going weak-kneed at kittens.

They are just irresistible!

bwebb7 - That was SO generous of you to offer to send some worming medication. They are all bright-eyed and clear at the moment, but if it happens again, I'll try and find a vet to buy that stuff you mentioned. The mail between Spain and the USA is really slow usually -- I know from when I've sent my book to USA addresses. Sometimes it takes nearly 3 weeks! I should be able to find a vet in the nearest big town.

Ozark Hen - Thanks, I'm really pleased with how they are doing. I'll keep posting up photos.

Well, today is Day 14. I'm no expert, but I think the two big ones are little girls, and the smallest, dark one is a boy.

Wow, what time-wasters they are! I'm supposed to be writing but I just can't resist stopping and playing with them every two minutes...

Well, the kittens have had quite an eventful week. I checked on them as usual, in the woodshed, one morning, and they'd gone! Couldn't believe a fox had got in, or bird of prey, or whatever, so started searching like mad. It was the little squeaks that gave them away. MumCat had moved them, closer to the house, but squashed behind the cooking tray in the barbeque. A really silly place as the barbecue is about 3 feet off the ground.

So I moved them back into the woodshed, but MumCat wasn't having any of it. She moved them back behind the barbecue again immediately.

I knew it would happen, and it did... I actually saw it from the kitchen door. The fattest, boldest little girl investigated too far and fell out. Luckily she kind of bounced and was unhurt. So MumCat and I have compromised. I opened the cupboard door below and moved them into the cupboard with the door jammed ajar. MumCat has accepted that, and the kittens won't be falling from any great height in future.

They are just adorable, and doing really well. I don't think they are going to inherit MumCat's Siamese looks much, though.

OH, Victoria, they are precious. I think mama moves them when she feels they have been "found out" and need a safer spot for them.
Yes, I see what you mean about the nose of the lighter colored one but she will still be easily recognized as a Siamese. the dark one is going to be lovely. Good job there!
