I got a Maine Coon cat over a year ago he will take dragon flies out of the air like they fly really fast 4 ft in air n he carwheels same with Jays hechickadees n to my horror red squirrels that I've raised for a year will kill red squirrels and decapitate them on my doorstep which I cry... well when we ended up with these 12 baby chickens and two baby ducks I was a little concerned no I was petrified because he's a bad ass killing machine, so we kept them in the playpen after they graduated the tub n my babies are rough they have been braving the northern Northest part of Maine an HR from Canada border.. They been out in coupe for two wks with brood heat light n 100 watt bulb over here and now have begun to free range at a month n 3 days and they get too far from tree Grove on slug n snail galore but Ollie heels em back to safety.. He even watches the sky for turkey vultures and hawks was I thinking that the cat was spending all the time out in living room with the Ducks and the chickens and the Ducks didn't have a cover or cage and he never bothered any of them ..t.cat is a killer... he even took our 27 lb dog (pug pit)right to the ground .w..he has taken it over as far as these all being his babies like he popped then n laid then himself..12 month old chickens and he herds them back to the chicken coop or closer he'll let them wander around and free-range.. but funniest thing is I wanted an aussie heeler livestock dog but instead I got a heelin chicken cat and he's a Herder too and he thinks that he laid these chickens and thinks they are his his babies . teb..I'll he's interact he's not fixed only a yr llold n kills everything that moves but these babies n I TOTALLY TRUST HIM (that was not always the case lol) there's nothing that's going to bother these babies right here no irmins Martin's n fox he can take too and anything comes near The Coop he kills it so I feel very comfortable and I wanted to know how often this phenomenon happens... Has ANYONE AT ALL READ OR else heard of a cat totally taking over chickens has his babies HIS an BROOD? male Coon cat?? and he's not very well behaved but with these chickens he is so gentle and so motherly but he's a boy NOT FIXED please someone give me some info on this waI..beentching it for 2 weeks.. friends are telling me he stalking them to eat them but in fact he jumps down into their pen to see if they're okay he'll lay right with them they perch him lol he lays up on the pallets like a lion to get best view n won't sleep just like a new mother.. and to watch the romantic squinting of his eyes at wame andgging his tail slowly (no irritation at all) i/and he has to tell me when it's time to put the chickens in at night and twice lefti the door open and he has told me the door was open by yowling just like a cat in heat and he actually saved one of my NH butreds got left out n he was crying n crying n I found her n she's have died!!! he's an unfixed boy so I wanted to know how many other people out there who've heard of this read about it or know of it themselves?? what kind of phenomenon do I got going on here?? This is him watching coupe he doesn't sleep I have to feed my Herder good or he beats dog up for going near them... Ok Pple how many have heard of a 1 yr old unfixed male cat doing this n he was born from many generations of indoor cats... Oh and I ended up with a buff orpington by mistake I think I have a blk lorps rooster n an americauna rooster way psyched... Hit me with info I'm not new I just have new acct
