A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Its that time of year when folks are sorting out breeding pens....maybe it just started crashing from over use...

Yea! I posted on Kevins thread on FB that it worked before I posted here today. I am hoping it was something in an update or something he took on his putor.

I have been refusing all updates here.

Got up to 7 legbar chicks out. 2 zipping. And several more pips.

Ralphie since this was first time incubating in my cabinet. Can a tray be set so it catches more heat in a certain spot.

I had 2 trays in. But all the hatching and piping is just in one tray.

I rotate mine into the different spots. I think the top is hotter than the bottom. Also how you have the vents in the back open makes a difference. I have used a temp probe on each tray and they are close, so I don't know..LOL

Ok thanks. Didn't think about not switching trays around. Know better next hatch.

I sold a hen and Tom to a guys grandson I work with. She laid her first egg of the year yesterday.

So not mine but another turkey laying in Mo.

Not turkey related but I went to put my legbar and fcbm eggs in lockdown.

I have pips already. Shouldn't have hatched til sunday.

Guess their in a hurry to get here.

I was using still air, but I kept my FCBM eggs at 101.5 when I hatched them last year. I think I dry hatched them until lockdown. My theory was darker egg, less heat penetration, more heat needed. It was a bit of an experiment I guess. I heard some folks actually use sand paper to get the dark coating off prior to incubation. All my babies hatched on day 19/20. I have a few in the bator now and the temp is around 99.8. I'm curious to see when they hatch.

I just used this yesterday with no issues. Maybe it had a little hiccup.
