A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

This morning we had another encounter between the deer and Sam. Sam and her poults were on the far side of the driveway and the deer on this side. He cautiously approached Sam and tried to sniff her. She turned around and hissed... The deer took three steps back, turned left and moseyed down the driveway. I guess sam's in charge.:yesss:

Just got the new Samsung S8 plus. Haven't had a chance to try the "improved camera yet. Hope it does as well as your ipod6s.

I think that is what my son just got. My iPhone 6s is what he gave me when he upgraded last year, but I think he's "upgraded" twice since! That said, this camera normally does really good pics. Of course, it all depends on light, weather ..... and the operator who is old and keeps getting her fingers in the way. lol

Storm was inbound, ran out to put Turkey's in their run when there was a huge crack of thunder. Turkey's ran right by me into their pen. LOL! They usually saunter along, but they high tailed it. I read somewhere they can reach up to 25 mph running...they may have been close. I also read they can reach up to 55 mph in the air...really? That doesn't seem possible.

I have no doubts after having chased one or two in the past year... One morning I woke up to about a dozen poults out of their shelter and roaming the pasture. NOT FUN!:old:mad:

Let's talk about bees... I'm a new bee keeper. Got three hives. Went out this morning and one was literally covered in bees. Since today is check the hive day, I suited up and went in. I have a queen who is an over achiever... Two of my hives are progressing as expected, but this one.. WOW! They had pulled out comb in all 10 frames of the upper box and filled most of them. Again, WOW! So I setup another super to add to the hive. Then the rain came. ARG. Then it quit, so Off I went to add another super to the hive. Couldn't get the smoker fired up given the weather so just used a brush and added the new super. WOW! I really pissed off the bees. They chased me all the way back to the house. ARG!:he:he:he:he

I have a wild hive in a hollow oak right behind the house. If I get too close with the tractor they will start head butting me. The head butt is a warning to back off. The aggression zone isn't very big.
