A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I'm close to the supposed midget white person but I don't want white birds since I know they'll get picked off first.

If I make a turkey box-call type noise he fluffs up and splays his tail and prances about. Plus the more naked neck and larger snood/neck skin. I'm thinking I have 3 toms and 3 hens.

I have white birds. I do not find them picked off any faster than the colored one.

In Alaska I had ducks and my Pekin all got eaten by owls and the Swedish and Cayuga didn't. I'm sure if I had them in winter the Pekin would have had the upper hand on blending in... I ended up with one surviving blue swede I gave to a farmers son who had a pond and kept pet ducks.

May have just been my experience but I also like the colorful turkeys more.

How old are they? They look like they could handle freezing temps for a few hours.

Not yet 8 weeks so I figured I'd be nice since it's a sudden drop. Was 80's with 60's at night and now it's 50's with low 40's. It'll be a little warmer for a bit before dropping again so they get to be spoiled this weekend.

Today was hilarious. i was finishing the new shelter and installing the perches... I was surrounded by turkeys. And they didn't want to give up the perches. ARG:he
Way back when I was putting in my frost free hydrants, my turkeys would stand right beside the ditch and kick sand in on top of me.
