. oh and run out of coop space even after you have expanded 2 or 3 times.....and the brooder is full all the time...lol ok I have only been hatching for a little over a year

I am a recovering hatching addict. Only because it got so bad last year, that my husband banned me from brooding in the garage anymore. Since I haven't been able to figure out where else to brood, I haven't turned my incubators on yet this year. And I have six turkey eggs sitting on my counter taunting me.

But there is a new development. I got a new washer and dryer this week... The boxes are the perfect size for disposable brooders... I think 4 weeks is enough time to figure out where in the chicken coop I could squeeze them in...

Depends where you’re at. I’m close enough to hipster Portland where anything “heritage” or vintage is the cool thing.

Right now I have a dozen turkey eggs. I will collect until Sunday and then start my incubation. That would make my oldest egg 7 days old. Will fire up the incubator tomorrow and let run a couple days to make sure all is still working well.

Incubator of mine should arrive Saturday or Monday. So I’ll start collecting eggs!

Guinea fowl and the defective tom get to go into isolation area tomorrow to withdraw feed since they meet the chopping block this weekend.
