A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I am a southern guy for sure, but I don't act like the normal people out here. I normally don't use coats until the temperature is under 30 degrees, anything higher and i'm in a short sleeved shirt, mostly because the temperature does not bother me (the only footwear I have is sandals, and a pair of dress shoes for Sunday), back about 10 - 11 years ago there was an Ice Storm in Oklahoma, and i could easily be seen wearing a short sleeve shirt, shorts, and sandals (everyone that saw me could not understand how the cold just didn't affect me), and I sure do love snow, I have a lot of fun memories of playing in the snow in New York

I don't recall having many snow days growing up. People didn't depend on the busses. They just put it in 4 wheel drive and took their kids to school. Now they call it off for any bit of weather it seems like. I also remember having no heat for several days in a row. . everyone wore their coats and bibs to school and went anyways.
Poor precious babies walk around dragging blankets and pillows at school now. . when it's not even that cold.
I would not allow that in my classroom if I were a teacher.
Younguns!!!

when I was a kid we walked 3 miles uphill both ways to school in 40 below temps and never missed a day.

I was surprised when we moved from the city to 30 minutes north, up in the mountains. I knew that the snow was a lot worse up here so I figured there would be a lot more snow days..... Nope! These buses know how to handle these rural roads with layer of snow on them! They won't do ice or if a big storm is coming through but they're more likely to close due to below 0° temps than an inch or two of white stuff laying around!

today its drying out from the rain, but its still in the 40 degree range, but as much as i'm excited for snow, i'm also excited for spring to come around since I am already getting plans started in getting an Aquaponics system set up (I love fishkeeping just as much as keeping a flock of chickens, ducks, guineas, and turkeys).
My mom thinks the Aquaponics system is a good idea since I have an elephant ear runner growing in my 40 gallon aquarium that is currently holding all of my breeding guppies (the breeding group has 1 male, and about a dozen females of various colors), a breeding set of albino Corydoras (1 female, and 3 males), a 7 - 8 inch Plecostamus, and a net thats holding about 30 baby albino corydoras
