A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Cindy....its a different perspective with "city" girls. Speaking of city folk....the neighbors are starting to stream in to meet the new girls. Across the board....they are stunned by their beauty. Well...sort of...they are impressed by their beautiful feathers! The girls are curious with visitors but not allowing themselves to be petted yet. So Daisy is taking up the slack. She's a total flirt! She knows she'll get a snood pet and most likely a treat!
And a bit of sad news. Her little white fluffy ancient dog buddy has died. The owners came down to let me know. If you remember, Daisy was the only other animal the spoiled little mutt didn't attack. They both got a hen hug amid tears. Loosing their dog was tough for them.

Aww, that's so sad :( I remember you telling us about that little guy. It's too bad they don't live forever.

Here are some of my crew.I tell them not to stand on the fire pit it may be giving off the wrong ideas.heres one helping me with tics in my garden.

Yes the turkeys can be quite entertaining when they are used to a routine. Mine have learned to recognize my car coming up the street. They all jump up and start running and flapping their wings around the pen when they see me driving up at the end of the day. They know they are getting their feed filled and a treat. Last night they got a pumpkin split in half. I always keep some treat on hand, whether grapes, squash, apples or some cracked pecans from my mothers trees.

Looks like I'll be cutting my flocks back and butchering an extra tom. I have 3 roos separated to be processed so far, probably tomorrow and I'll be going through the flock and seeing where else I can cut back. DH just got laid off. I haven't worked in like 7 years (minus a couple months last summer) but I'm on the hunt for something now. Hopefully....

Good luck.
