A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I'm currently working towards a darker Harvey Speckled line.
I think they look even more spectacular than the original lines.
What do you think?

All of my Slates had blue eyes. You had to be really close to see what the eye color was.
A couple years ago I was indexing the eye colors of my turkeys.
The only blue eyed ones I ever had where black-based whites, or other mutations on the white locus in combination with black.

Would be interesting to see some pictures of your slates.

Even the Self Blue that I got from Porter's was blue eyed. It is going to take awhile to go back through the pics to find ones that show the eye color. There may be some in this thread and in my R2elk album.

I checked a few of your pictures.
In this pictures it appears as if the male has blue and the female brown eye.
Maybe you have somewhere the original with a better resolution to cross-check this.

I found a few pictures clearly showing brown eyes.

Here’s to my turkeys who can’t stop visiting my back porch. At this point I know I need to close the gate that opens up from the back because they came up front twice today, but I still suspect if they wanted they could jump it. Watched a female barred chocolate do so today, and i’ve seen the -calico? poor quality royal palm?- tom Max(front in both photos) fly over taller gates.
