Hey all, I haven't been on for a while, we've been busy prepping to go the beach. We only went for 2 days but it was a wonderful trip :) Most of the flock was thrilled to see me this morning and I has Cuddles, Romeo, Dinner and the other two mottled hens all over me. Even Princess came over to say hi and get a couple pets and you all know how weird my palms are. I did have an issue with Adam though. He actually threatened me and tried to spur me. He got his butt chased and smacked with a plastic rake and I pinned to the ground by his neck for a few minutes (I didn't hurt him of course). He kept his distance after that. I guess since I was gone for a couple days he thought he could challenge my authority. I'm just glad he didn't challenge my mom while she was bird sitting. She was intimidated by him as it was just because of his size lol. Here's a couple beach pictures for the heck of it :)

Ugg...hot as heck down here again. All fowl are panting. Even with all the fans & wading pools.

Ralphie/Holm....when does Mr. T make the move?

Memphis - it bites that it's so hot where you are. We finally got a bit of a break today in the heat - I just hope that the promised rain shows up, we need it. How's the arm healing up?

Aurora - beautiful pics! Has Adam remembered that you are in charge yet??

Wow, it has been quiet on here lately....where's everyone been hiding? I'm almost certain that 3 of 6 of my sexed pullets are roosters.... Not impressed. I swear I've heard more "different" voices crowing. I just have to catch them at it to figure out for sure who it is. I know that one of the Sicilian buttercups is a roo, and I'm planning to keep him. But I think both of my jersey giant pullets are actually boys :(. If so, they'll have to go dang it (I really wanted some jersey giant hens)..grrrrr. I don't hatch birds to avoid this problem - but I think my batting average is worse with "sexed" birds than most people have when they hatch their own
