A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Feisty, sorry that your headed to a funeral and not New Zealand. That sucks. And your broody...that's a bummer too. Let me know if you end up with an incubator.

Yep...it's staying light longer....slowly! And this cold wet just makes me want to hibernate. Minus 8 would make me move.

-21 is scary! Where is your frost line? I'm just curious how deep you need to bury water lines.

I think 8 feet is what they recommend, 6 ft if you cover or wrap them. This is mainly because of the cleared areas where we drive. Under snow in areas not driven in our forst line is suppose to be 4 1/2 ft.

ANd it is colder than, something I cannot say here or I will be on probation for an even longer time than I am now.

I can probably count on one hand the times I've bought Powerball tickets. But I bought one for this last drawing. AND will buy another. I can't even imagine. I didn't even get one number. But, I'm certainly NOT one of those who say they would keep working!

Ralphie, they keep talking about how cold that playoff game will be! Holm was on here earlier telling us how cold it was this morning. Brrrr! That's another thing I can't imagine. Are your turkeys out in this?

I had 5 hens that went into the chicken coop last night. They followed Ethel into it. The chicken door needs to be big enough for my Rooster which means the smaller hens can go into it. Which is ok, I guess.

I just do not want the Toms eating all my layer mash.

The rest (15) all went into their pen and stayed outside. Not one turkey used my nice new Turkey house! Darn things!

I had two nieces that spend Friday night and most of Saturday with us. They are from NC. So we do not get to see them all that often. The one had never seen my birds. She wanted to see them yesterday morning. So even in the cold we went out to see the birds. My brother has chickens so they were not a big deal, but the turkey were.

I was pointing out the turkeys and who was whom and what they were. Ethel walked over to her, cocked her head and starting talking to her. She went on and on. Even my niece said " I have no idea what she is telling me, but it sounds pretty serious".

I have to laugh at her everytime she does this. I wish I knew what she is saying. She must have stood and talked with us for 5 minutes before we left.

I have figured out the "I am lost where are you guys" Clicks, and whistles. I think it is very similar to the I found food one. The rest are a mystery to me.
