A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Aurora - can't wait to see all the baby fluffy butts!!! There had better be pictures coming as soon a they arrive :)

Ralph - you know you wanted to set eggs - but it's nice to have someone to blame for it :D

Ron - I hope your guys are healing up. If Turkules is any example - they recover pretty well from injuries (he's always hurting himself). Mine are always tempted by scrambled eggs when they don't want to eat their regular food.

DH said that the egg was still peeping fiercely this morning and there's a hole about the size of a pencil in it. We'll see how it does. Poor DH, he's getting reminders by text message for all the critter care. We have 2 senior dogs, one very senior cat, a middle aged cat and all the birds. I usually look after any medicating and special care.......I'm sure he's cursing his cell phone right now (beep....did you give meds to the cat?, beep.....did you feed the quarantine birds, beep....did you wet the paper towels in the shoebox for the egg?) Poor guy

I'm glad the chick is still alive!! And my mom said I am the only one who sends a chore list to everyon each morning when I am gone!!

Fiesty-I will definitely take pics if any hatch. These eggs were not well packaged at all and they're so dark that I can't even see in to tell which ones developed and which ones didn't lol

And good luck with your little peeper!hopefully it hatches with no issues!

Feisty...I'm routing for the little guy!

Aurora....pictures immediatly!!

Ralph and Holm....I AI dogs....you can AI a turkey. Get over it! Holm...it would look good on your vet school resume!!

Yes AKC allows AI. Thats about all we do these days. Thank God the days of sending the girls into be bred is over! I never enjoyed having someone's in season dog at my house for a week or more to get bred. Was sick of always being at the airport picking up or sending off a dog. I did get to know the local undertakers. Amazing how many bodies are in the cargo hold.

Ron...hope the boys will get better soon. And Feisty speaks from experience. Turkulus is rather accident prone! LOL! And she was thinking about giving him a swing to play on! I still have visions of him in a body cast.

So...one of my Australorp pictures was used for the "Official Caption Contest 12-28-15". It just ended. I'm thinking to raise turkey awarness we need to start submitting cute turkey shots for use!! My idea of a turkey winning the Worst Molt Contest is not panning out.

Ralphie...how old is she...your dog that is....
What breed?

She is a lab she will be 8 on June 10th. I have her mother too. Her mother is getting very old acting she s going on 11 and I worry about her daily. I have never had a lab make 11 before.

I had the mother bred to a Chocolate Lab before I understood the genetics of my dog. My White (yellow) lab can only have white (yellow) and black pups. The Chocolate could only have chocolate and black pups. So I got 11 black pups. They both had great pedigrees for hunting and field trials.. They were too large to be show dogs. The pup (black) is too spoiled to be a good trial dog, but it is in her genes. I made the error of keeping the alpha pup as my own pup. Alpha pups prefer to do what they want and not what I want, I have learned. She is still a great hunting dog, just lazy on retrievals of dummies.

I want her bred so I can keep the line for myself, I love them so much. The pup can have all three color pups. Which would be so cool in one batch. As long as there are no Dudleys, but I do not think she can have one of them.

My goodness Memphis! Here!

They're not very exciting yet though. You'll have to wait a couple days to see if anything exciting comes out of them. Here, to hold you over. The two, 3 week old silkie chicks I picked up this weekend :)
