That would work!! If you are going to show turkeys you will need to set eggs soon! They have to be hatched after January first.

Holm what do you think about putting Sidekick and 3 hens in the Creamette pen and The Ba rooster and 3 hens.

I can tell the eggs apart and I doubt they would fight without more roosters and toms.

I think it sounds like a good plan. I have only had fighting between mine when I get new roos.

The hardest part will be getting the Turkeys to lay eggs in the coop.
I will make them "lean toos' in there.

So...one of my Australorp pictures was used for the "Official Caption Contest 12-28-15".  It just ended.  I'm thinking to raise turkey awarness we need to start submitting cute turkey shots for use!!  My idea of a turkey winning the Worst Molt Contest is not panning out.

I let Mo Out this morning... he just seems to stand or sit around the chickens. I think he might be loosing weight too.

Curly stayed out with the chickens last night. I brought him in to splint his bald up foot he is walking on.. I got half of a small tennis ball cats play with, opening Curlys claw... He could perch easier with it.. I put an old... clean sock, cut holes for his toes, then taped it up. He volunteered to set on the perch all day.. I put food and water in front of him and he seemed content.

I felt so bad for Mo, I brought Curly out, he is still walking on the closed foot.. I gotta work on that in the morning. He is moving easier and faster though.

Mo really perked up, but they were both trying to get to each other.. Mo, the aggressor. I stayed between them and finally bear hugged Mo and brought him in and dr'd His head. He seems to like it.. Curly doesn't however.

I had to herd Curly in the coup again tonight. All the chickens were fine but he is setting on the coup.. not in it. He seems to be fine with the chickens. . MO aint.

Idk what I'm going to do to keep them separated.. how long will I need to do this?

I lost a 7 week old Marans today.. I have no clue. It just got inactive, I picked it up and noticed it wing drooped.. I tried wetting it's tounge, cuddling it, but it got more lathargic and died.

It was one of my best looking Marans and I think it was a pullet ;-(

I need to get ahold of the Conservation to see if they can check it out to see what killed it.

I am proud of my DH too. I asked if he was keeping it warm, and he said he was watching TV with it sleeping on his belly. So apparently all is well. Can't believe that my makeshift incubator worked?!? I guess now I just hope that baby survives the week of bachelorhood....

My grandmother, , idk how, but it worked, would put a light in a dresser drawer with a bowl of water on throw away rags and hatch hundreds.. I was about 5 or 6 the last time I remember her doing it.
