Well I just put 15 eggs into lockdown. I've only got hopes that 14 of them will hatch as the one BCM has a saddle cell.

Saddle cell?

Since the eggs were shipped they got bounced around some. A saddle cell is where the air cell isn't on the fat end like its supposed to. Its kind of off to the side. You can read about them on either the first or second post in the "incubating with friends" thread.

I have 5 roosters leaving today, BUT I have some minor problems, I lost a rooster to something last night. Instead of posting again, I am going to ask you read it on the surviving Minnesota thread. Any ideas of what to do are appreciated.

Hopped over to the SM thread...Ralph, no idea what got the rooster. We dont have the same types of predators down here that you have there. Anything in the trap? I hate that happened.

I put pictures on there of the kill site and the tracks of my critter(s).

You might just want to look to scare yourself knowing people live and flourish in conditions like the pictures show... BTW warmed up to 15 below now!

My outdoor one is showing below -20, but I have a digital indoor outdoor remote one saying -15. Either way when I was out taking pictures I froze my poor little bare pinkies!

I had a creamette egg and a Toad egg laid this morning both were cracked (frozen).


I lifted Ethel off the roost today, she was going to spend another day in the rafters. She was not happy with me. Then I made her go outside, that really ticked her off. All the other turkeys are outside. She stayed out for about 3 minutes before going back inside.
