I love guineas! They are comical and look weird. However, I can't stand to listen to them.

Ralph...when is your hatch date? Are these all Creamette eggs? When are you going to start moving your birds into breeding pens? And have you decided how your pairing them up? And have you talked Holm out of his tom yet.

Chaos....how are your new turkeys doing....are they with T-Bone now or still in isolation?

Yes, turkeys are all in the same pen now. I'm guessing that everybody is getting along as they are all still alive. T-Bone has been strutting around trying to show off.

It was in the low 20's here this morning. Thats cold for us. But boy my turkey's love it. They are flapping and hopping all over the place. Chickens....not so much!

I thought Aurora had some poults due to hatch this week! Yipee!!

Holm and I are working things out, I think I will be getting his tom in two to three weeks.

We should have great birds together. I am just borrowing his Tom, I will be giving him some poults to show as soon as I get them. I want to pick the best ones for him from Sidekick and his hens.


I will be moving birds this weekend with luck, the weather is warming up. I plan to send some of the boys to camp.

Everything I have hatching is creamettes and I think they are all sold and half the next batch. I have another 30 eggs to go in. I need to get the big incubator fired up!

I'm so excited about the possibilities with Holm's tom....who will be in his breeding pen?
Who is going with Sidekick?? What about Porter?

Wow...those Creamers are a hot seller! Who knew.....

Holm and I will decide together which hen goes with his Tom.

I will put slates with Sidekick. I would like to have one blue in there if possible.

I am not sure about Porter, he may not get to breed.

I printed out all the possibilities with my various matches. I do not know enough about showing turkeys. If there is an open class I would put Porter with the rusty lavender hen. They would make huge babies, BUT the color is off for Slates. Just looking I did not print a porter page, I printed Holm's Tom (who needs a name) and my hens, and of course JJ and Ethel.

I want to do whatever gets us the most variety in babies. And whatever gets Holm the best baby to show. I am pretty open as you can tell.

We can get 24 different types of turkeys from my tom and a rusty slate hen. Even blue Cornish palm!!
