A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

That Holm is what makes us all love you so much! You find the good in everything, even a snake..

And doing that has nothing to do with being smart..

My little brother use to throw kittens in the stock tank to teach them to swim. They all failed his class.

His fairly smart, he has a PHD in Physics and does research and Teaches at an Ivy league college somewhere in the NE.

Ethel pictures from today, her and Ethel Jr were sitting out the storm inside the coop. The rest were in the cafeteria.

No pictures of Ethel Jr as I am just trying to get her to accept me more. She gets spooked too easily.

If you look close you can see Ethel's cute little beard.

And one of snow blowing off one of my sheds....

Tonight's Turkey bedtime story.

I went out to put the Toms away in a near snow storm. ( Okay. light blowing snow). They had been out in the yard by the deck. There were signs that had recently been on the deck. (poop ). There were no tracks because of the snow I did not see them when I came outside.

I went to the turkey pen. No turkeys in the pen. No nothing! I called for them. No answer. I decided to go find them. I figured they would be by King George and Bert Jr. They were not there, I checked around the girls pen, no turkeys. I looked in the shed, no turkeys.

I was starting to get worried. I thought maybe they went into the turkey house to get out of the storm. I went to the turkey house opened the door, stepped in, no turkeys.
Now I was worried.

I stepped out locked the man door to the turkey house. I walked around the house and there they were, in the turkey pen! Obviously they have been in the turkey house to avoid the snow, but when they saw me coming to the turkey house they stepped out to screw with me. I am sure it was Porters idea.

When I asked them what they were doing, they all gave a huge laugh. I can tell the gobbles they make when they are laughing at me.

I was happy to see they actually like the turkey house. Even though they deny it.

Isn't that the greatest thing about a turkey? Having a bedtime chat! Just talking over the day. Ya just can't do that with a chicken!

Ralph, she really is pretty. I love their big expressive almond eyes. Hens are the sweetest!!

She's doing great! I was just out there checking to make sure she didn't have any extras under her. They're either due tomorrow or Thursday. When I let them out Sunday, she took am extra long excursion off of them and I was worried she wouldn't go back but she did and she's sitting tight.

I thought you all said that broody turkeys were a force to be reckoned with, or is that only one the poults hatch? Pebbles watches me closely when I pull her eggs out from under her to check them (make sure they're hers). If I let any sit in her eyesight, she complains and tries to reach them to pull them back but she's never tried to peck or bite me. Hopefully, she just fully trusts me.

You are so lucky!

What a good girl! She obviously trusts you. Still think she's going to be one surprised moma when the babies hatch! Are you going to let her keep them, or put them in the brooder?
