A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

He is a cutey!

I have never seen the turkeys play keep away, that would be cool.

I lost the nest the two hens and Sidekick were sitting on last night.  The birds were all off and safe, the turkey eggs are gone, but there are some chicken eggs in there. Some are broken open.   I found a pile of poop the other day that appeared to be buried by a cat family member.  The poop was between a quarter or a half dollar piece and about 3 inches long.  The scratch marks are about 2 feet around.  It is a big pile.

I am thinking I have a lynx or bobcat here.  I am not sure a cat would eat eggs.   The turkeys were all safe, but nervous this morning. It is trail cam time again.   I may have to do some serious trapping.  Luckily I locked up the hen with the 2 chicks in Lizzies cage last night.

I hate predators!

We have a mountain lion hanging around the place right now, and several years ago I tracked and killed a bobcat that cleared out my chicken coop. I have the old buffalo rifle ready if and when I see this lion

Memphis here is Sidekicks weird/odd behavior.

These are pictures of him sitting on a "nest". the nest is actually a nest of golf balls. I had found the nest with guinea eggs, I replaced them with golf balls, the guineas figured it out and stopped laying there. They have been there for a month now. Sidekick found the nest and made it his own.

He puffed up and refused to leave it, acting like a broody hen.

You can see the golf balls,,

Here is a video of it:
