I do it so the chicks are at least 24 hours old and I can watch them and people can pick them up on Saturdays.

I figured if I need to assist, it's gonna be because they are late. Easy hatchers will be done by the time I get home Thursday, and I have Friday evening and the weekend if they need me. I'm not a particularly saavy business woman yet, I think my DH would be upset if I expanded as much as I'd like, and my carpentry skills are limited, and he just won't help unless I twist his arm, blah blah blah...
However, I've had someone stop by from last year to preorder olive egger babies, 15 Marans/cream legbars cross.

4 of the eggs are actually a pale blue, they came from MM hatchery sold as whiting true blues, the olive egg bottom right is ALSO from MM and isn't supposed to be GREEN!!

My first hatch is 5 OE, and one legbar pullet. I'm going to guess that Eli is her daddy, since he is pretty active when Jake isn't smacking him around. I'm excited to see her grow! Esther already named her Penelope.
