A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I have to say we're pretty lucky with our Tommy. With this bird flu ban we had to put him straight into an enclosed stable (netting over top door). I made a point of taking kids in with me so he could get used to them and (fingers crossed) I think it's worked as he accepts my little but loud monsters. He just moves out their way. He had never been outside or seen the sky/sun before we got them and I can tell they happy. But from what iv been reading don't trust him lol he could really be a Thomas!

I've had several hens rip off toenails. I'm not even sure what they did to themselves. Rosabelle messed up her face on the chicken wire trying to reach through it last year, the dummy. She flew inside an enclosure, and tried to poke her beak out.

I think Feisty's Big Bird lost a toe nail. And broke her beak. Hey, where has "Fishy" been? Wonder if she snuck back to New Zealand.....

I was hoping Sprinkles was a hen too....but glad your keeping him. I'm curious about what color he'll be!!

Still up in Missouri. Heading south tomorrow. Lots of rain. Feedman probably got drenched too. I planted to Eastern Redbuds....so the rain was welcom!

I definitely have been thinking of running back to New Zealand.... the weather sounds so much more appealing than the swamp I am currently experiencing :)

Big Bird did rip off a toenail, looked like I had a massacre in the barn. Broke her beak too.... I have considered that she may have less than stellar coordination  Good thing birds heal up pretty quickly lol.

Can't wait to see what Sprinkles turns into as well.... he has some pretty cool coloring! I look at what the bourbons looked like as babies - not even close to what they look like as adults :). Always amazes me how much they change growing up!
