A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Adam finally made his way to freezer camp this morning. He about broke my fingers in the process but he didn't succeed. I have no idea what his live weight was but completely dressed out, without giblets in, he was 20 lbs. He week make a fantastic thanksgiving dinner this year.

Hatched 7 this weekend, last one required hobbles briefly but hatched all by itself. Here's the 6 sturdy ones!

Bantam bird: cute babies.

Aurora: sorry to hear Adam is the guest of honor at Thanksgiving.

May have some new poult pics soon.

Locked down 24. So far 4 are out. 2 zipping and 5 pipped.

The nest of robins on my bathroom window sill are hatching! I noticed that two of the three eggs had hatched. Hoping #3 makes it too....

Too bad about Adam, but things will probably be a lot easier around your place now.

Congrats on the robin eggs hatching. :fl number 3 hatches.

But you know watching those hatch may be the small little nudge you need to get an incubator.

Then you can watch anytime you want.

And maybe a roo or tom. Too help further the incubator idea.

Today is the first day I'm letting my five poults (and their 15 chicken friends) free range. That group is 5-8 weeks old. I've been letting them have some free time just before bed the last few days, after the adult chickens have been shut into their pen. Integration has gone fairly smoothly today. I should go out and get some photos.

But for now, here is a picture of my new straight run brown leghorns that I stumbled across at TSC today!
