I just switched my turkey's from 18% to 22%. 22% is the highest within 2 hours from where I live. I also gave them some hard boiled egg for extra protein. I didn't notice chicken starter was so much different from turkey.

Bantambird, If you see anyone with Gulfspan on their truck or hats, tell them hello and your one of Nash's chicken friends!!!they should start appearing by monday
Not sure where you get feed from but if they deal in purina they should be able to order higher protein feed. You might have to wait for a shipment so the freight doesn't eat you alive. but most places will add to their order if they can.
Tsc around me is the only farm store that carries high protein gamebird. I have to get my 28 thru a local elevator but they cannot get any higher thru thier distributor.
So you may check any elevator around you that may sell feed.
I'm sorry but when i think of farming in idaho only potatoes and beets come to mind not sure if you would need an elevator for those.may be worth a shot
ralphie you trendsetter you.The feed mill orders in 28% just for me. They found others want it since I first ordered it.
Of Course, I buy 5 bags at a time.....![]()
Is really cheap cat food OK? Also I live in a small town of 3000. I bet that there are only 3-4 people with turkeys here. Most likely I am the biggest breeder in the whole town with my 60 birds.some other protein jumpers are.
fish meal, soybean meal, cat food, and floating fish food.
cat food and fish food are at least 32 percent protein. If i use those for small birds i keep an old blender around to break up the pellets to a finer particle. and mix some with what feed i am feeding for a quick short term boost
