A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

hahaha the poult is starting to come around apparently.... I'm still at work. I just couldn't believe a brand new heat lamp bulb blew in a matter of not even 24 hours of use...

Sold everything I took to the auction.

If I would have known Turkey eggs were gonna bring what they did I might have taken a few dozen.

Sweetgrass eggs were 60 a dozen.
Bourbon reds were 55 a dozen.

I got 14 a piece on bourbon reds and 18 a piece on narri. Poults

Has 6 BBW Turkey's there 1/2 grown brought 52 ea.

But I couldn't come home without buying some things.

Got a white leghorn roo . So know I can breed him to my leghorn hens.

Bought 15 quail. Mainly meatmakers and a&ms.

1 barred hen and 3 babies. Just because they were in a huge Rabbit pen. Needed the cage.

Today anyway was a good day to sell. Prices were decent.

Wow Feedman! You cleaned up!! And I win the bet...I knew you'd bring home SOMETHING!!

Getting ready to head to the airport....finally!! The BEST news....DIRECT FLIGHT!! That never happens!

Feedman-sounds like you did great!

Memphis-bet you can't wait to get home!

I did ok today at the swap for it being a miserable rainy day. I sold all my lavender ameraucana chicks (5), a showgirl roo, all my silkie chicks (4), all my poults (12), and have 4 welbar chicks leaving tomorrow morning, and 14 CCL leaving this week. I even unloaded an entire box of little cockerels (like 25) lol. My brooder is so much emptier! I did bring home 2 LF cochin chicks for hubby since he loves cochins.

Folks,

I'm so focused on figuring out how to grow them, I haven't had time to think about how and for what price to sell them. I have sooooooooooooo much to learn.

I've really got to thin the herd.I've got 4 RP toms and 3 hens. I'm going to send 3 of the toms to camp. On the midget front around 10 toms are going bye bye. Should have the "bus" running next weekend.

Does anyone have one of those little tricks you can share on how to weigh a live uncooperative Turkey??

You need a hanging scale or you can hold him while you are standing on a bathroom scale and subtract your weight. If you have a hanging scale, you can tape his legs together and hang him from the scale. They normally calm down very quickly when they are upside down.
