A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Well, after being rejected by that toddler, Daisy met a new neighbors son who is fascinated with her. The girls were grazing in front yesterday evening and I was chatting with a neighbor. I could see this kid, around 8-9, walking down the street with his mom. I could see his whole face change when he saw the girls. And of course Daisy went sliding up to him immediately. Still can't believe how much she likes kids & how patient she is. She's fine with adults, but with kids she's all over them like a cheap feather suit.

Our turkeys are going through a change of personality again. They are spending more time following the WWD than me. She came in the house late yesterday afternoon. I was in my current favorite room in the house...

I left that room and heard her closing the door. I looked out ant there was a dozen turkey laid out on my new grass as if they were having a Sunday Social. I asked the WWD what was going on out there.

She said they followed her to the steps and when she went inside they just decided to lay there and wait for her to come back out.

They are such goofy birds. It appears as they elected a different leader than we wanted. We wanted JJ Jr to be the head Tom, it is a bronze instead. He is pretty proud of winning the election too. He has not stopped strutting and showing off for the last 2 weeks.

Anneln....what color poults did you end up with? Aurora has beautiful birds! Let's see some pics!!

They are still little, but looks like 2 Bourbon Reds and one mottled black. I still bring them inside every night, as we have a neighbors outdoor cat that has killed my last three little turkey babies. Even with a bell on its neck, it still managed to sneak up on the poor babies. I think another week or two and I will integrate them into sleeping in the coop.
