Awwww. Cletis was struttin his whole four tail feathers this mornin! :lau. We haven't seen him do it before. He was lookin for a lil love with his wings all posed and gobblin to his ladies as he followed them round. He either got him a lil sumptin sumptin or gave up. But he was tryin with all his might. I wanted to take pics of his pittiful lookin self but we were sendin the kids back to ky so we had the grandbaby to kiss all over.

My dark bronze looking hen, Brandie, will get on the roof shed almost at the time they are to go into the pen. I use a water hose and spray behind her til she gets to the edge. Then she will either walk down the woven wire top or jump off and run back around to the gate.

I thought blackhead too but I haven't studied up on the diseases much since I haven't seen them. I didn't want to give any wrong advice. I guess I probably should do some studying, just in case I ever need to know

I don't believe the poster has provided sufficient information to be jumping to any conclusions. I have seen poultry that looked like that from being worked over by other poultry and it didn't have anything to do with disease. Since the poster has not provided any background information regarding any other poultry or animals that may have had contact with that turkey there is no telling what it could be.

In 2013 I had wet and dry pox in a bunch of chickens, and one pigeon had a scab on it's foot. All but 1 or 2 survived, but I did have to give several of them supportive care.

Regarding blackhead... It does not cause scabs on the head, nor does it turn their heads black, though it might cause their heads to turn purple just before they die.
