Well, I finally figured out the brats and how they're getting out at daybreak. They're not returning to the safety of their house at all... They cuddle up in the middle of the turkeys. And I'm proud of my alpha Tom as I'm pretty sure it was him who got the barred owl. As I was closing everybody up tonight, he was perched on a tree stump and another barred owl and a great horned started trading calls. His eyes opened and he was in a full strut and gobbled at the owls. He never left his perch, they said something back and he smoothed right back out and went into sleep mode. No one else in the pasture made a peep, not even the big mouth ducks.

Even covered in pins, she still tried to come get snuggled but I imagine it didn't feel good. She only tried for a minute.

Princess's feathers are coming in so she doesn't look AS bad anymore but she's still got a ways to go.

Just in...I found 3 TURKEY EGGS in the coop with a 4th one on the ground smashed. Someone is STILL laying! Or laying again. I am NOT adding supplemental light right now.

Aurora I thought we talked about this....When you wash your turkeys do not use the high heat dry, use the fluff cycle or the feathers will come out!

Remember that for next time! I can't keep reminding you year after year...

Daisy's new feathers are coming in with the coolest black marks. She's really growing some beauties this year! She still doesn't want to be touched, but lays at my feet. Poor girl.

Noticed him getting very irritated when rooster was attempting to mate with one of the hens. Started fanning his tail and jumping at them.
