Ralphie....where are our bug eyed baby pics?

And where had Holm been??

Here they are.

These three are camera shy and hiding.

You can see the dark one thinking about jumping. He was not into photo hour.

This one missed out on photo hour, so I had to take her picture alone. She was hiding amongst the white legbars.

Week old chicks make great babysitters and tutors for the bug-eye gang. Just the right age difference and they are not aggressive yet.

In lui of any bug eye pics from the convent...I will say both turkey girls and the teenage Sussex were all piled in a dust bath yesterday. Nice big dust hole in the sun. The Sussex still follow their Turkey moms around. Wish I had a pic but as soon as they realzed I was there they jumped up.

I think they will be a mottled of some kind. But who knows for sure. The father was a slate, but he might not have been pure. He was the jerk that lost his head 5 days before Easter.

I think i have the escape spots fixed now though. CAE44866-6B86-4F0B-8C63-1A1BAF956FE4.jpeg

Lockdown starts in 2 days so hopefully will have some
Bug eye babies soon!

My meat birds are only 2 weeks old and I’m like.. holy cow you’re huge! They’ll be turkey size soon it feels like.

Thanks! They really are. I could sit and watch them dance round and talk to the babies for hours.
First time momma hens? It's great that they are co-parenting so nicely together! Like my Annabelle and Rosabelle! It's good to keep those Poults confined while mommas teach them for a few weeks so they don't get separated and die. Poults are so fragile! Once the Poults get a little wiser about sticking close to mommas, they can go into a bigger pen. Soooo cute!
