A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

It's 51° here. I think I'm going to move my penciled preteens out to the coop today. They'll be staying in that separation pen out there for a couple weeks. Maybe I'll actually get pictures of them since I haven't shared any since they hatched lol. The ducklings will move down to the brooder that the turkeys were in. They desperately need more room lol

Even though October was super super cold, official winter has been fairly wimpy as per the usual. Yay global warming! Supposed to be around 39 today!

Dear Bantambird:

Why would say this kind of mean hurtful stuff when the temps are barely going to be positive here?

I am thinking of burning tires again today.

Yes, but I think that’s actually a boy. :) He’s nearly up to the size of my first hens though. They’re growing so fast!
If you are referring to this one, you are correct that he is a tom.

Lol it was supposed to be-15 next week, but the weather dorks predict 10 now. Yay! Warmest winter so far,! But lat year February was coldest month, with 2 solid weeks of -30s so there's that....

Agreed that this month has been quite mild as we just went through our first January thaw. Yesterday morning the low was 7°F with 1 1/4" of fresh snow. Today the low was 19°F at midnight. This morning the wind is howling and the temperature is up to 30°F.

Hey Memphis, I learned that there's a special flour used in the South to make biscuits super fluff there, soft wheat versus our hard wheat. Is that true? I love making biscuits, but I've only been to the South once when I was too young to know much. Can you please tell me about these textural difference between soft wheat biscuits and hard wheat ones?

Super curious!

Sounds like a good question to ask here.

Right in the middle of the storms. Reporting 80 mph winds. Power outages. 7 - 10 semi trucks blown over. Tornado spotted a few miles south. Lots if thunder & lightning. It's a wild one.
The coonhound doesn't mind the thunder...but he can't figure out the lightning. He keeps going to the window & looking out.
Mason was a total pita all evening while it stormed.
He didn't seem frightened. . just curious and confused.
In and out in and out.. Just long enough to get good and wet.
Eventually The DH said no more! Claimed he was only doing it because he was enjoying the attention of getting dried off with the towel.
Ok. . maybe so. So. .I didn't let him out the 100th time he asked. .
And. .

He pooped in the living room. :th

I think he needed to go. . but was too distracted by all the water and lightening every time he went out there. Guess next time I'll have to put the rain coat on and go out with him
