A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Any pictures of semi bronze semi grey adults?
I have not found any reference pics but over the years there have been a few posted by owners wondering what they were. Because of how your Red Bronze was produced, she could also have contributed a cg gene meaning that another possibility is a Bronze Gray (bb1 cgcg dd).

I started trying to find references for what this poult would look like when grown out and haven't found even a mention of the color! Lol. I remember someone posting it on this thread though.

First ever turkey egg! No idea who laid this, but one of the Narragansetts was in the group nesting box of the first coop a couple days ago.

Turkey eggs are so pretty!

Girls came out front again today. I'm pleased with their progress. Don't have a lot of the neighbors walking & the kids are all in school, so its relatively quiet out there. Blossom is the funny one! Chatting the whole time, even when stuffing her beak. When she finds a new weed she likes she goes off. Marigold & Daisy really dig in. Iris is getting better. Little twerp!

Welcome @CatWhisperer ! If you've only ever seen white turkeys, you're in for a surprise! Ralph is right about have going through doors too lol. Check out those links to porters. If you have to order from anyone, I'd go with them over any hatchery. Here's some eye candy for the now though :)

I was interested in Royal palms hoping they could fit in my chicken coop.

I got two turkey eggs today!! This group started laying before the mom group! Tomorrow morning I will check to see if they are fertile. Toms are Royal Palms, hens are 2 rusty slate?, 3 Bronze/red bronze, and a black. If they are fertile I'm thinking I need to incubate some this month. :)

I lost my Royal Palm hen, so none of the poults will be purebred. I bet if I hatch some of the mixed eggs, fiance won't notice if I slip a few hatchery poults in the mix, right?

Eggs everywhere here. They make great omelets! Coonhound gets one every so often, overeasy, on his food too. Baker friend so happy. Guy contacted me wanting some to make icecream. Neighbor poaching them. Turkey egg season is great! Lots of happy people & one happy coonhound!

If it’s not too late, I would suggest not cracking any open to check for fertility (unless you really want to eat one). Just start incubating them. In my experience, if you have a tom, the eggs are fertile. 👍🏻
