A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I know just what over friendly turkeys are like. The first turkeys that I had were rehomed because the owners couldn't handle them after imprinting them. One hen would sneak up behind me and bite. I accidentally cured her of biting when she nailed me in the back of the knee with a twisting bite. Before I realized what I was doing, I had grabbed her by the neck and started to swing her in circles. I realized what I was doing just in time that I was able to release her before I broke her neck and she went sailing through the air. It only took the one episode to teach her to not get within arm's reach of me.

If that wasn't enough, when I would be down in a ditch working on a waterline, they would all come over and kick dirt and pebbles in on top of me.

I much prefer my current turkeys that will not come near me.

Well, in defense of the turkeys, everyone knows you never work in a trench if turkeys know your in it.

That would just be too tempting for them. You know they were just teasing you. The chances are slim they would have buried you alive......

At the very least they would have left your head be above ground.

:lau :lau :lau :lau

My current turkeys do not come close to where I am, trench or otherwise. None of them even came around when I had a trench collapse on me. It took me over an hour to dig myself out and then I had to use the backhoe to recover my boots.

My turkeys would have hid the keys to the backhoe.

Some how one of them got ahold of a goose decoy.

They put it in the middle of a pen I am not using...

When I first saw it it weirded me out. I thought a goose had gotten into the building. I had them up in the rafters on a small shelf. How they got one down without bringing the whole pile is beyond me.

I left the goose there so I could take a picture of it for you all. If I ever remember my phone when I go out there.

oh, it’s a full body decoy not a half decoy.
Ralphie you should put a game camera set to video out there . Good video I bet . Me thinks the toms are having their way with that goose decoy .

Could be, the hens aren’t leaving the rafters, except for the one setting on the golf ball and light bulb..

I am thinking of letting them keep their eggs and raising me some babies Incase food gets short I could eat them.

I can see you out there with the backhoe, sifting through, cussin' and digging for those boots. 😂 One of my brothers stepped the wrong place trying to cross a stream in a swamp we were exploring in (central FL). Dad got him out somehow. He was literally up to his armpits (he wasn't very tall at the time). The boots are still there. :lau

No sifting was required, I knew right where they were. When I dumped that bucketfull, they came out right on top of the pile.
