I don't think so. The under side doesn't look right to me. You can see oyster mushrooms in my Mushrooms Album.

Hmmm it's spongy and a tree shrooms. The one that grew before this one had prominent gills like an oyster, but this one is fat and hasn't got any noticeable deep gills, even though I've harvested mushrooms from this same spot before. I mean, I've eaten shrooms from off the same tree knot, but these seem a tad different.

I thought those looked like slightly deformed pheasant back and I have never seen them growing out of a knot like that.. but the super duper mushroom I’d pooper outer sats it is pheasant back.

Does this mean I should discourage it from growing on my apple trees? It's only growing out of the knot and not from any living wood. Will it kill cambrium?

I think it will kill anything eventually. However, I am not a botanist, I only play one on TV.
