Guess I shouldn't say old timers because that's me now. Should say alot of poultry folks that gave me advise in past.

A lot of poultry people recommend using ACV simply because someone told them it was a good thing to do. I personally believe it can be harmful. There was a good study on its effects at high temperatures but with all the changes in the Internet in the last few years the link became broken and I have never been able to find it again.

Sorry to here about your neighbors wife . I always had recommendations from poultry people but only started using it when I seen Porter from Porters rare turkeys recommended it. You are right I have never seen a study done on it.

It depends on what age they are.

My starter is Lysine 1.60% Methionine 0.58% My grower is Lysine 1.40% Methionine 0.50%
