I saw the first breeding attempt a couple of days ago.Wow the boys are really strutting their stuff this morning. Not sure if any of the hens have squatted for them, I haven't seen any myself or any other signs that they have yet. But the boys are surely trying to get their attention. Males we always seem to be pushing the issue nothing new about that![]()
I know it won't be long here the way they are acting. Almost have to believe there has been attempts here also the way they are acting something has the boys all excited.I saw the first breeding attempt a couple of days ago.
Mine always start to lay in mid March give or take a few days. My first year hens start first and older hens a week or so later. But I do catch them breeding in Feb.I have a young hen that's been squatting for me nonstop for a week so today I moved out of the way and let Phil do his thing. I'm not sure she was thrilled with that lol. I'm betting eggs will be coming soon!
