The colors & patterns are amazing!Thank you! The Painted varieties have become my favorite to work with. I have many other turkeys that free range, and we still have quite a few to butcher but I am going to focus on the Painted lines mainly.

They are absolutely beautiful!Hello everyone! I hope everyone is well! I have been away from BYC for a while due to school and wanted to drop in while I'm on a short break. I am excited about this year's breeding season, however I won't have time to hatch and brood many poults or chicks this year. I have two pens set up for now, one with a white tom from the painted line with blue eyes (BB cc Ee) over a Grizzled Chocolate Painted hen (his mom) and a Grizzled Black Painted hen. I am hoping for more Grizzled Chocolate Painted from the trio.
In another pen I have my Grizzled Black Painted and Black Painted toms in with my Black and Slate Painted hens. I may end up mating my Penciled Fall Fire hen back to her sire when I open up another pen. For now, the PFF hen is in with the Painted turkeys. The turkey hens have already begun laying and I set a few last Sunday.
I hope everyone has a great hatching season!

I am studying to be a family nurse practitioner. I graduate in December. Crop science is an awesome major! Good for you! And it's good to see you all again too! Thank you.Wow! Good to see you again. These are lovely!
What are you studying in school? Personally, I am majoring in crop science.
Thank you! My turkeys are an outlet for stress and a welcomed distraction when my mind needs a break from school. They are absolutely beautiful!
They really are amazing! I am fascinated by the genetics of the painted varieties, and all turkey genetics in general. My husband tolerates them, but he prefers the traditional bronze or narragansett turkeys. lolThe colors & patterns are amazing!
Tolerate is exactly the word for what my husband does with my birds as well.Thank you! My turkeys are an outlet for stress and a welcomed distraction when my mind needs a break from school.

My husband likes chickens, but he tolerates my turkeys as well because he knows I like them. He also doesn’t necessarily like cats, but he tolerates my son’s two farm cats. And by tolerates, I mean he feeds them and takes care of them, but occasionally I see him pet them.Tolerate is exactly the word for what my husband does with my birds as well.
It's the word for me with my roommate's hamster, lolTolerate is exactly the word for what my husband does with my birds as well.
