The curse was unhindered, it merely passed through the shadows and burnt off a large part of Thunderstorm's wing, before pulling back into Hollywhisper.

The curse burned in his eyes, blinding and disorientating him. It singed at his feathers and it seemed to knock the energy out of him.

The curse retreated to inside of Hollywhisper, seeming to take over her. It started to die down, letting Holly take control of her own body at last, although she was still smothered in the blinding light.
