Okay... *clears throat and arranges hands like a newsreader*

NorthLight was cursed a long time ago because her family bought woes to the world (don't ask) - the rest of them were unrepentent so they were exterminated, but she felt remorse so she lived on with the curse that shrouds her in light and renders her speechless, so the world cannot see or hear her. It stops her from making any friends, getting to know anybody, basically cuts her off from the rest of the world.

The curse is broken when someone starts to believe in her, and wants to be her friend. It doesn't make it easy though, it sets on fire anyone who tries to get too near. Duck's finches eventually broke the curse, and it went off to find someone else to curse (ended up inside a SC warrior) while NorthLight lives on as a normal chicken around camp somewhere.
