Jessica, we are not insulting you. :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
I'm so sorry we made you feel that way but I know no one here wants you to feel hurt. We care. Sometimes it's hard to gauge other people's feelings online. It's just that Rey looks like (s)he has male traits. It happened to me too. I had a "girl" who turned out to be a boy.

Don't quit, Jessica. We might be wrong. You and Rey have every right to be in this contest.

and we could all be wrong about our pullets! haha, what if no one in here gets eggs and we all get a bunch of crowing! That would be a mess and I hope this isn't the case, but at this point I'm really doubting my girls and their egg laying capabilities!

Ok everyone, this is a contest for the duds. Rey is Jessica's dud and she is here waiting for an egg like everyone else. We have all been there, we have all had a bird that we are anxiously waiting for to lay and sometimes we are surprised and one day that bird crows, but with young birds we often just don't know, and we hope and hope for that egg. Rey is still in it because Rey has not been crowing or proven herself to Jessica as anything other than a pullet. EEs and mixed breeds get crazy and unique feathers and coloration. I personally hope Rey is the next of the bunch to lay an egg. You have all voiced your opinions, now is the time to be supportive.

Thank you she is a little weird but she's loosening her tail feathers and I think that this contest should be for male chickens too for them being duds like not crowing and stuff so if Rey is a roo then I will still stay

Agreed! If one of mine turns out to be a roo he better crow and protect his ladies and warn me when neighbor dogs or coyotes come around, earn his keep in his own way!

Guy and girls welcome the newest member of my flock WINSOR!!!! I just got her

Can I play? I have a (at least) 6 y/o EE that still occasionally lays an egg or two between intervals, they are a lovely bright blue when she does lay and she is our only EE. Her name is Maude and she last laid an egg this past spring. May I enter Maude or is she too old to play? She still sneaks out the back yard when the other hens aren't looking, and comes back after exploring her favorite area in the front yard. But she wont let the other hens know how she does it. In other words she is not an old senile hen.
