A contest for the duds!

Haha... this is a thread from a year ago, but feel free to revive with this year's dud chicks :) Hopefully you get some eggs soon! @Legion and @andreanar

36 weeks .... to get first *tiny* egg from Dark Brown Leghorn. And.....it is the only one of 3 dark Brown Leghorns of the same age that is laying!!!!

They are our only white egg layers, so very easy to determine if they were laying (although one EE lays a pale green egg and wishful thinking had us wondering a few times if maybe it was white, but no...had to wait 36 weeks for the first egg).

Now, the other 2 DBLeghorns are 37 weeks old, and not another white egg layer yet...curious as to when the other 2 will get going.

They have easy water and food access (in more than 1 location), and we have electric in the coop, so they have 15 hours of light too. Roomy run and excess roost space in coop. All the other hens (same hatch date and 5 other breeds) have been laying for weeks and weeks. Was ready to sell the darn things, but timing hadn't worked out and then we got first egg. So, we are keeping them, mostly out of sheer curiosity as to how long we will end up waiting for the first eggs from the other two.
