At least she's beautiful to look at!Heres nhr Gretchen. Hatched May 5th so shes a lil over 29 weeks. View attachment 1591312 I made a bet with myself that she would be the first to lay of my 6 birds but her sis Gretchen and 3 other white leghorns are laying before her. Shes been the dominant hen since day one but as far as laying shes a dud...For now.
Lol yea but Thanksgiving is drawing nearer. Wink wink!At least she's beautiful to look at!
Go threaten her! Read her some nice yummy chicken recipes from a cookbook!Lol yea but Thanksgiving is drawing nearer.
What kind of chicken is Etherl and what mix are here chicks?I've got another freeloader! She came to me in June, already laying, she was about 9 mths old at the time. Of course, she stopped laying due to the move. Then she laid for 3 weeks and stopped again after a possum attacked the coop. Laid again for a few weeks and decided to brood. And when decided to brood, there was no stopping her! Short of hanging her from the roof of the coop. So she got some eggs and hatched 3 chicks. The "chicks" are now bigger than her and getting ready to lay themselves, but she refuses to let them grow up, continues sitting on them and mothering them and still refuses to lay eggs! This is Ethel... and Ethel with her "chicks"
